Classic Stage Company presented its annual benefit April 1 at CSC's Lynn F. Angelson Theater.
Entitled Classics Gone Mad! and directed by Cara Akselrad and Eric Ulloa, the part-party, part-performance delivered "classic" works of the theatrical canon with a twist. Following last year's celebration, which reinvented some of Shakespeare's most classic scenes, this season, Classic Stage took on the catalogue of Richard Rodgers and Hammerstein II.
Hosted by Jackie Cox (RuPaul’s Drag Race), Classics Gone Mad! featured Julie Benko (Harmony), Jose Llana (Here Lies Love), Tony winner Bonnie Milligan (Kimberly Akimbo), Jelani Remy (Back to the Future), The Skivvies, Claybourne Elder (Company), Elad Kabilio (Little Night Music: Mozart & Sondheim), and Jessica Vosk (Wicked).
The evening concluded with a sing-along led by Marie’s Crisis pianist Brandon James Gwinn.
