Drama Desk winner Ken Page, who created the role of Old Deuteronomy in the original, Tony-winning production of Cats, returns to Feinstein's/54 Below May 4 in evening titled There's So Much to Talk About… (And Sing About, Too!). The performance will also be live streamed.
Richard Jay-Alexander, most recently represented on Broadway with Kristin Chenoweth: For the Girls, directs the concert with musical direction by Joseph Joubert. Show time is 7 PM ET.
Attendees can expect to hear tunes from Page's Broadway outings as well as songs from The Fantasticks and The Nightmare Before Christmas, plus the work of Muddy Waters, Frank Loesser, Jule Styne, and Stephen Sondheim.
"I can't wait to get back to Feinstein's/54 Below," Page recently told Playbill. "NYC and I are survivors, baby! There's so much to talk about … and sing about, too, for real! I'll be thinking of two of my dearest friends I lost in the last couple of years, Armelia McQueen and Camille Saviola. I’ll be dedicating the night to them, and I know they'll be in the room. Let's celebrate. We're all survivors!”

"Any opportunity to work with Ken Page is one I welcome," added director Jay-Alexander. "He is the real deal. Interestingly, we began our careers around the same time. He was on a pre-Broadway tour of the new all-Black production of Guys and Dolls and I was touring with The Me Nobody Knows. That’s how we met. All these years later, we have worked together more than a few times and remained close friends, so, yeah, he does have a lot to talk about and sing about, too! The biggest surprise I remember, involving Ken, was when I went to my first arena rehearsals with Barbra Streisand, and there was Ken in the inspirational chorus. ‘One never knows, do one.’ Ken has put an enormous amount of time and energy into this show for New York, and when we chat or rehearse or discuss material, I often catch myself crying and cannot wait for May 4th, to share it all with an audience who loves the same things that we do. It’s gonna be special …. I can guarantee it.”
Page has appeared on Broadway in It Ain't Nothin' But the Blues, The Wiz, Guys and Dolls, Ain't Misbehavin', and Cats. He has played such nightclubs as The Grand Finale, Reno Sweeney's, Sweetwaters, Les Mouches, and The Bottom Line. Page won a Drama Desk Award for his performance in Ain't Misbehavin' and the Theatre World Award for his work in Guys and Dolls, and his debut solo recording is titled Page by Page. The Broadway favorite also portrayed club owner Max Washington in the Dreamgirls film, and his numerous other screen credits include Torch Song Trilogy, Sable, Gimme a Break!, Family Matters, Rhythm & Blues, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Touched by an Angel, All Grown Up!, Charmed, and State of Mind.
