Broadway actors Annie Golden (Violet, Orange is the New Black) and David St. Louis (Side Show) star as partners-in-crime in the Playmakers Rep production of Sweeney Todd The Demon Barber of Fleet Street. Louis stars as the infamous barber-turned-serial killer, with Golden as his pie-baking, murderous apprentice.
Stephen Sondheim and Hugh Wheeler’s Tony-winning musical thriller began performances in Chapel Hill, NC, March 30, and is scheduled to run through April 23. The production is directed by Jen Wineman and will officially open April 2 in the Paul Green Theatre.
The cast also features Carlos Alcala, Jade Arnold, Max Bitar, Jeffrey Blair Cornell, Carey Cox, Benjamin Curns, Ray Dooley, Julie Fishell, Mya Ison, Annie Keller, Liz Kent, Schuyler Scott Mastain, Brian Owen, Adam Poole, Blake Segal, Jessica Sorgi, Caroline Strange and Rachael Worthington.
