Casting has been announced for an upcoming staged reading of Anna Deavere Smith’s This Ghost of Slavery, presented October 27 at Wesleyan University.
The cast will include Gbenga Akinnagbe (The Wire, The Deuce), Wynn Harmon (Live from Lincoln Center, Law & Order: SVU, Madam Secretary), Kai Heath (Great Performances, Law & Order, Much Ado About Nothing), Ken Marks (The Wackness, Henry’s Crime, Side Effects), Jay O. Sanders (Kiss the Girls, The Day After Tomorrow, Edge of Darkness), Okieriete Onaodowan (Hamilton), Sojourner Brown (Hadestown), and Arjun Gupta (Nurse Jackie).
They will be joined by Sharaé Moultrie (Girl From the North Country), Steve Routman (Killers of the Flower Moon), Jolie Cloutier (Flying Bird's Diary), Rashida McMahon, Connor Wrubel, and Raimi Bagwell. Casting is by tbd casting co.
The reading will be directed by Aneesha Kudtarkar. Wesleyan University’s Center for the Arts and Long Wharf Theatre are co-producing.
