The upcoming world premiere of Erika Sheffer's Vladimir has found its full cast, with performances set to begin Off-Broadway at New York City Center Stage Stage I September 24 ahead of an October 16 opening night. Tony winner Daniel Sullivan (Proof) is directing.
Newly announced in the company are Erin Darke (Good Girl Revolt) as Chovka and David Rosenberg (Bad Jews) as Yevgeny, joining the previously announced two-time Tony winner Norbert Leo Butz (Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Catch Me If You Can) as Sema, Francesca Faridany (The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, Macbeth) as Raya, Erik Jensen (The Collaboration, Corpus Christi) as Andrei, Olivia Deren Nikkanen (The Little Foxes, Supergirl) as Galina, and Jonathan Walker (The Assembled Parties, Daredevil) as Jim.
Set in Moscow, Vladimir follows an independent journalist, who is covering Putin’s first term. Struggling to maintain sanity and hope in increasingly hostile circumstances, she finds herself on the brink of an explosive story.
The production will also have scenic design by Mark Wendland, costume design by Jess Goldstein, lighting design by Japhy Weideman, original music and sound by Dan Moses Schreier, projection design by Lucy Mackinnon, fight direction by Tom Schall, hair and wig design by Charles G. LaPointe, makeup design by Ashley Ryan, and dialect coaching by Charlotte Fleck.
