Theatre Royal Bath will premiere a new adaptation of George Orwell's 1984 penned by Ryan Craig (Charlotte and Theodore). Directed by Lindsay Posner, the production will run September 20-28, opening September 25.
The brief run will be followed by a U.K. tour, with dates and venues to be announced.
Written in 1949, Orwell's dystopian thriller remains startlingly timely, telling a story of a world where your every move is being watched and monitored. An earlier adaptation, by Robert Icke and Duncan Macmillan, played a Broadway run in 2017.
Casting and further creative team members for the production are to be announced.
