Rob Madge's solo show My Son's a Queer (But What Can You Do?) is opening its doors a bit early.
The show, which will play a 16-week run on Broadway at the Lyceum Theatre, has announced a first-of-its-kind digital lottery program that makes inexpensive tickets accessible to those who have to travel to New York to attend.
Starting today, January 2, and through January 7, fans can enter a special $24 lottery for 1 or 2 tickets to the performance of their choice between February 27 and March 11.
Winners will be selected between January 8 and 12, allowing fans more than a month to organize travel plans. Tickets will be situated in both the orchestra and the mezzanine, depending on the selected performance. Entrance to the lottery is free and open to all, and can be accessed via Telecharge.

By launching the lottery months before our first preview, we are breaking the traditional mold of Broadway lotteries, which are often available only a few days or hours before show time, and opening up opportunities for theatre lovers outside the NYC metro area to plan their visit and experience Broadway at an affordable price. It's a win-win—a chance for audiences to secure tickets well in advance at a great price and for us, as producers, to welcome a wide and enthusiastic audience right from the start of our journey.”

With previews beginning February 27 and opening night set for March 12, the autobiographical solo show centers on Madge (Oliver!, Les Misérables) at age 12 as they attempt to create a full scale Disney parade in their house for their grandmother.
Directed by Luke Sheppard (& Juliet), the work premiered at London's Turbine Theatre in 2021 before becoming a sell-out at the 2022 Edinburgh Festival Fringe. West End bows followed in 2022 and 2023, earning a 2023 Olivier nomination. A cast recording was released in 2022. The play is one of several Edinburgh Fringe favorites to have crossed the pond in recent years, including the Tony-winning SIX, The Shark is Broken, and Alex Edelman's one-man show Just For Us.
My Son's a Queer features songs by Pippa Cleary (The Great British Bake Off Musical), scenic and costume design by Ryan Dawson Laight, lighting design by Jai Morjaria, sound design by Tingying Dong, video design by George Reeve, and orchestrations by Simon Nathan. The Broadway production will be produced by arrangement with Bill Kenwright and Paul Taylor Mills.
