Following previews that began Aug. 16, the cast is led by Tony nominee Rory O'Malley (The Book of Mormon) and Glenn Howerton from the hit TV series "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia."
The production, which marks Ellis' directing debut at the Old Globe, continues through Sept. 20.
In the Shakespeare farce The Comedy of Errors, a man and his servant arrive in a town, unaware that each of them has a set of identical twins already living there. The mix-up causes upset wives, upset creditors and ensuing scandal.
The cast also features Megan Dodds (West End’s My Name Is Rachel Corrie), Barrett Doss (You Can’t Take It with You), Austin Durant (You Can’t Take It with You), Patrick Kerr (You Can’t Take It with You ), Garth Schilling and Globe Associate Artist Deborah Taylor.
Joining them are Old Globe/University of San Diego Graduate Theatre Program actors Amy Blackman, Lindsay Brill, Charlotte Bydwell, Lowell Byers, Ally Carey, Jamal Douglas, Tyler Kent, Jake Millgard, Makha Mthembu, Daniel Petzold, Megan M. Storti, Nathan Whitmer and Patrick Zeller.
The creative team also includes Alexander Dodge (scenic design), Linda Cho (costume design), Philip S. Rosenberg (lighting design), Acme Sound Partners (sound sesign), Derek Cannon (music director), Ursula Meyer (voice and text coach), Jim Carnahan, CSA (casting) and Charles Means (production stage manager).
