Written by Drew Larimore, the play follows a couple who make their living reselling items purloined from abandoned restaurants.

NYC's Pearl Studios will host an industry reading of The Cannibals of McGower County, a new play from Drew Larimore (UpstateSmithtown), May 22. Jen Wineman is directing.

The cast will feature Margo Martindale (The Americans), Constance Shulman (The Best We Could Do), Gus Birney (Our Class), and Jay Armstrong Johnson (Parade).

Set in West Texas, the play follows a couple who make a living selling stolen goods taken from abandoned restaurants. When the two unexpectedly run into their estranged daughter, some family trauma is on the menu. The play has previously been workshopped at Asolo Rep and Denizen Theatre.

The reading is being underwritten by Janet Hinkle.
