Bryan Batt
Bryan Batt returns to La Petit Theatre in New Orleans, Louisiana, for the first time since playing at the historic institution that gave him his start in 1984. The theatre celebrated its 100th anniversary last year.
Batt will take on the role of God in David Javerbaum’s An Act of God from May 11–May 27, directed by Maxwell Williams. The play originally premiered on Broadway in 2015 starring Jim Parsons, and returned to Broadway a year later starring Sean Hayes.
Best known to nationwide audiences as Salvatore Romano from Mad Men (for which he won two SAG Awards as part of the Outstanding Ensemble), Batt is a veteran of the Broadway stage. He made his Broadway debut in the original production of Cats, replacing for Munkustrap. He later joined Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Starlight Express followed by Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. He played Lumiere in Beauty and the Beast and appeared in the original Broadway production of Sunset Boulevard. He was also featured in The Scarlet Pimpernel, Saturday Night Fever, and Seussical. Most recently, he understudied the role of Albin in the 2004 revival of La Cage Aux Folles.
A huge talent and hilarious cabaret performer, Batt has also appeared on Playbill Travel’s Broadway on the High Seas cruises as a performer and as Master of Ceremonies. Tickets are now on sale for the Broadway on the Rhône River 2 cruise April 7–14, 2019, and the Broadway on the High Seas 10: Odyssey Through the Greek Isles cruise June 24–July 1, 2019.
