The cast features Wesley Taylor (Stensgård), George S. Irving (Chamberlain Bratsberg), Max Gordon Moore (Doctor Fieldbo), Edward Hibbert (Daniel Heire), Jeff Ronan (Aslaksen), Andrea Lynn Green (Thora Bratsberg), Nick Wyman (Anders Lundestad), Jim Brochu (Mons Monsen), Chris Richards (Bastain Monsen), Cynthia Darlow (Madam Rundholmen) and Roberto Cambeiro (Erik Bratsberg). Charles Morey narrates.

Adapted and directed by Staller, League of Youth is, press notes state, a farce by "Henrik Ibsen—his first non-verse play in an attempt to move his style toward realism. This broad comedy tells the tale of a wildly ambitious young man determined to take over the government of a town. In nineteenth-century Norway, it was widely considered Ibsen's most popular play, lauded for its natural and witty dialogue, cynical humor and farcical intrigue."

“Gingold Theatrical Group is proud to present the New York debut of League of Youth, by the man who inspired Shaw to begin writing plays,” said Staller in an earlier statement. “We’re offering audiences a rare opportunity to experience a brand new classic Ibsen comedy. Shaw became a playwright due to the influences of Ibsen and Chekhov, and Project Shaw is proud to be branching out with these presentations.”

Upcoming Project Shaw events for 2014 include The Millionairess (Nov. 24) and a reading of David Cote’s new play, Otherland (Dec. 22).

Now in its ninth year, Gingold Theatrical Group's Project Shaw made history in December 2009 as the first company ever to present performances of every one of Shaw's 65 plays (including full-length works, one-acts and sketches). Symphony Space is located in Manhattan at 2537 Broadway (at 95th Street). Tickets, priced $30, are available by calling (212) 864-5400 or online at symphonyspace.org.
