News Kinky Boots Composer Honored at Songwriters Hall of Fame Awards Tonight The Songwriters Hall of Fame honors Kinky Boots composer Cyndi Lauper during a June 18 gala ceremony at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York.

Lauper, whose pre-Broadway pop hits include "True Colors," "Girls Just Want to Have Fun," "All Through the Night" and "Time After Time," won a Tony Award for Best Original Score for her work on Kinky Boots, which was also named Best Musical at the 2013 Tony Awards. She will be honored tonight alongside pop composers Bobby Braddock, Willie Dixon, Robert Hunter and Jerry Garcia, Toby Keith and Linda Perry. Lady Gaga will accept the inaugural Contemporary Icon Award, and Van Morrison will take home the Johnny Mercer Award. “What A Wonderful World” was named winner of the Towering Song Award.

Among performers and presenters at tonight's induction will be Tony Bennett, Zac Brown, Michael Bublé, Carly Rae Jepsen, Dr. John, Ledisi, Ne-Yo, Jennifer Nettles, Mike O’Neill, Richie Sambora, Bernie Taupin and Paul Williams.
