The Dramatists Guild has added members Jeanine Tesori and Bess Wohl to its Council, the leadership team of the Guild.
The group meets monthly to make policy decisions for the Guild, a membership association of playwrights, librettists, composers, and lyricists writing for the stage. Both Tesori and Wohl were voted into their positions by the Guild's national membership.
Tesori, a two-time Tony-winning composer for her scores of Fun Home and Kimberly Akimbo, also wrote the musicals Thoroughly Modern Millie; Caroline, or Change; Shrek the Musical; Violet; and Soft Power.
Playwright Wohl made her Broadway debut with Grand Horizons in 2020, with additional plays including Small Mouth Sounds and Camp Siegfried, and the musical Pretty Filthy.
