The co-production between The 5th Avenue Theatre and ACT – A Contemporary Theatre will officially open March 12 and continue through May 17.

5th Avenue artistic director David Armstrong directs a cast that includes Kassebaum, Hobson, Eric Ankrim, Cayman Ilika, Matt Owen and Timothy Piggee.

"A cultural and political masterwork that opened in 1968 at the Village Gate Off-Broadway, this musical revue features songs by a little-known Belgian singer/songwriter and has astounded audiences around the world," press notes state. "Packed with wit, intelligence, and raw human emotion, Brel's songs radiate stories of love and loss, hope and despair, humor and pathos. The sheer power of Brel's music has inspired countless artists (from David Bowie and Neil Diamond to Nirvana and Celine Dion, and many more) to cover his work. The poignant, passionate, and profound work of Jacques Brel is brought to life in this intense musical experience."

The musical features a concept and English lyrics by Eric Blau and Mort Shuman.

A Contemporary Theatre in the Falls Theatre is located at 700 Union Street in Seattle. Call (206) 292-7676 or visit acttheatre.org for more information.
