Alyssa M. Williams' musical Two Thousand Miles will receive a private industry presentation March 15. The work is written and conceived by Williams, with music and lyrics by Hans Zanger, additional book and lyrics by Jaclyn Nash, and additional music by Taylor Guttadauro.
Directed by Ariel Reich (How to Dance in Ohio, The Band's Visit), the new musical explores the intricacies of caregiving when illness descends upon a devoted couple. Inspired by Williams's 16-year struggle with Rheumatoid Arthritis, the piece follows Davis, a playwright battling with Lupus, and his devoted boyfriend Nate, a composer who shoulders the burden of care.
The industry presentation will star Amelia Fei (How to Dance in Ohio), Carlos L. Encinias (How to Dance in Ohio, Mamma Mia!, Les Misérables), Melina Kalomas (How to Dance in Ohio, The Phantom of the Opera), Valerie Torres-Rosario (Camelot), and Josh Walker (RENT).
They will be joined by Nik Sorocenski and Tori Tiernan, who return to the roles they created in previous iterations, as well as Anthony Bologna. The presentation will be stage managed by Liz Weber.
