Off-Broadway News Henry IV, We Are Your Robots, More in Theatre for a New Audience's 2024-2025 Season

The Off-Broadway company's upcoming season will also include an Edinburgh remount of its 2022 staging of The Merchant of Venice.

Theatre for a New Audience has revealed the lineup of productions for its 2024-2025 season. 

The season will kick off at Brooklyn's Polonsky Shakespeare Center with the world premiere of the new musical We Are Your Robots, running November 10-December 8. The work features a book and lyrics by Ethan Lipton; with music composed and performed by Lipton, Vito Dieterle, Eben Levy, and Ian Riggs. Two-time Tony nominee Leigh Silverman will direct the co-production with Rattlestick Theater.

Dakin Matthews' adaptation of William Shakespeare's Henry IV will follow, playing January 26-March 2, 2025. Bedlam Theatre Company Artistic Director Eric Tucker will direct. From March 30-April 20,  TFANA will present Wole Soyinka's The Swamp Dwellers, with Awoye Timpo directing. TFANA's final production of the season at the Polonsky Shakespeare Center will be the world premiere of Taylor Mac's Prosperous Fools, running June 1-29. 

TFANA's production of Shakespeare's The Merchant of Venice, which was originally presented at the Polonsky Shakespeare Center in 2022, will travel to Scotland in early 2025. The production will run January 18-February 15 at the Royal Lyceum Theatre Edinburgh as part of The Shakespeare Exchange, a transatlantic partnership between TFANA and the Lyceum. Arin Arbus will again direct, with John Douglas Thompson starring as Shylock.
