The Broadway premiere of Young Jean Lee’s Straight White Men delivered its highest box office gross in its final week of performances at the Hayes Theater, earning $382,324 for the week ending September 9.

The play, which began its limited engagement in June, featured a cast including Call Me By Your Name's Armie Hammer, Kate Bornstein, Josh Charles, Ty DeFoe, and Paul Schneider—all in their Broadway debuts—as well as Stephen Payne. This week's take was up $25,423 from the week prior.

Despite a run of 24 previews and 56 regular performances, Straight White Men marks a moment in theatre history, claiming its place as the first work by an Asian-American female playwright to be produced on Broadway.

While the Labor Day holiday weekend typically brings a dip in Broadway box office figures, a few productions saw an increase. Among the shows reporting gains for the week ending September 9 were Anastasia at $743,501 (up $35,979) and Summer: The Donna Summer Musical at $749,340 (up $42,439).
