Gliding on reviews from critics—and with Tony Award nominations set to be announced April 30—a slate of this season’s spring arrivals saw a boost at the Broadway box office for the week ending April 28.
Ain’t Too Proud—The Life and Times of the Temptations was among the productions to draw audiences last week, earning $1,445,892 (100.11 percent of its potential) and playing to nearly 100 percent capacity at the Imperial Theatre.

Also up this week was Anaïs Mitchell’s critically-acclaimed Hadestown, which saw a boost of $183,197, closing out the week at $959,450.
Across Times Square, Beetlejuice earned $834,395 and Tootsie took $959,001—both productions showing solid figures on weeks with heavily-comped press performances.
The stripped-down revival of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Oklahoma! also reached its highest gross to date, earning $651,744, prompting producers to extend the run into next year at Circle in the Square.
