The company of Lincoln Center Theater's Uncle Vanya gathered last week for the first rehearsal of the new revival. The play, adapted by Tony nominee Heidi Schreck and directed by Lila Neugebauer, begins previews April 2 at the Vivian Beaumont Theater. The limited engagement will open April 24 and run through June 16. 

Television and film star Steve Carell will make his Broadway debut in the title role of the Chekhov classic alongside Tony nominee Alison Pill (Three Tall Women, The Lieutenant of Inishmore) as Vanya's niece Sonya.

The starry cast also includes Emmy nominee William Jackson Harper (The Good Place, All the Way) as Astrov, Tony winner Jayne Houdyshell as Mama Voinitski, Mia Katigbak as Marina, three-time Tony nominee Alfred Molina (Art, Red) as Alexander Serabryakov, Tony winner Anika Noni Rose (Caroline, Or Change) as Yelena, Jonathan Hadary (Gypsy, Golden Boy) as Waffles, and Spencer Donovan Jones (The King & I) as Yefim. 

The play will feature sets by Mimi Lien, costumes by Kaye Voyce, lighting by Lap Chi Chu and Elizabeth Harper, and sound by Mikhail Fiksel and Beth Lake. Charles M. Turner III will be stage manager.
