The new musical at New Jersey's George Street Playhouse stars Jackie Burns, Jonah Platt, and John Arthur Greene.

Wicked alums Jackie Burns (If/Then, Hair) and Jonah Platt (NBC’s Jesus Christ Superstar) star as Pearl and Marty Kantrowitz in the East Coast premiere of the new musical A Walk on the Moon.

Directed by Tony nominee Sheryl Kaller with choreography by Tony nominee Josh Prince, performances began April 26 at New Jersey's George Street Playhouse. The limited engagement will continue through May 21.

The cast features John Arthur Greene (Tootsie) as the Blouse Man Walker Jerome with Jill Abromovitz (Beetlejuice), Carly Gendell (School of Rock), Cody Braverman (The Harbinger), Maya Jacobson (Fiddler on the Roof in Yiddish), Wesley Zurick (On the Shore of the Wide World), Blair Goldberg (Kinky Boots), Jonathon Timpanelli (School of Rock), David R. Gordon (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory ), Megan Kane (Emojiland), Stephanie Lynne Mason (Fiddler on the Roof in Yiddish), and Dan Rosales (Spamilton ).

An adaptation of Pamela Gray's 1999 film of the same name, A Walk on the Moon features a book and additional lyrics by Gray, music and lyrics by Paul Scott Goodman and AnnMarie Milazzo, and musical supervision by Andy Einhorn.

In the musical, housewife Pearl Kantrowitz, sensing that change is in the air, begins a fling with a free-spirited traveling salesman while spending the summer with her family in the Catskills in 1969. As the Woodstock music festival springs to life nearby, their whirlwind romance, set against the backdrop of man’s first walk on the moon, takes audiences on a journey through an iconic moment in American history.

The production has costume design by Linda Cho, lighting design by Robert Wierzel, sound design by Leon Rothenberg, projection design by Tal Yarden (who is also the scenic consultant), intimacy direction by Leigh Zimmerman, associate direction by Drewe Goldstein, musical direction by Greg Kenna, and assistant choreography by Logan Epstein. The production stage manager is Samantha Flint.
