Following several show cancellations due to positive COVID-19 cases in the company, the Broadway-bound musical A Beautiful Noise, The Neil Diamond Musical at Boston's Emerson Colonial Theatre will resume preview performances July 7, with an opening night still set for July 10.
Starring in the bio-musical about singer-songwriter Neil Diamond are Tony nominees Will Swenson as Neil Diamond–Then, Mark Jacoby as Neil Diamond–Now, and Robyn Hurder as Marcia, joined by Linda Powell as Doctor, Jessie Fisher, Michael McCormick, Tom Alan Robbins, and Bri Sudia.
The company is rounded out by Jessie Austrian, Neal Benari, Jordan Dobson, Ninako Donville, Paige Faure, Nick Fradiani, Kalonjee Gallimore, Samantha Gershman, Alex Hairston, Makai Hernandez, Jess LeProtto, Tatiana Lofton, Aaron James McKenzie, Mary Page Nance, Robert Pendilla, Max Sangerman, and MiMi Scardulla.
Featured on the creative team are choreographer Steven Hoggett, book writer Anthony McCarten, and director Michael Mayer. It also includes scenic designer David Rockwell, costume designer Emilio Sosa, lighting designer Kevin Adams, sound designer Jessica Paz, and hair and wig designer Luc Verschueren. Music supervision and arrangements are by Sonny Paladino, incidental music and dance music arrangements by Brian Usifer, vocal design by AnnMarie Milazzo, and orchestrations by Bob Gaudio, Sonny Paladino, and Brian Usifer.
Bonnie Panson is the production stage manager, Jamie Harrison is the illusion consultant, Kathy Fabian is the properties designer, and Ryan Conway of Architect Theatrical is the general manager. Casting is by Jim Carnahan.
Following the Boston engagement, A Beautiful Noise will begin Broadway preview performances November 2 at the Broadhurst Theatre. Opening night is planned for December 4.
