The new immersive concert-play Wildfire has set a two-week workshop at San Francisco's Z SPACE, culminating in two invitation-only presentations September 7 and 8. Adin Walker will direct.

The cast includes Lila Blue, Ashkon Davaran, Mark G. Meadows, Josh Pollock, Dom Refuerzo, Deborah Martínez Rosengaus, and Christina Walton.

Written and conceived by Jessica Kahkoska, the piece follows the lives of eight people in a mountain resort town as they face the threat of a massive wildfire. The work is inspired by interview testimonies, and accompanied by a folk jukebox score from artists including Chimney Choir, Elephant Revival, Gregory Alan Isakov, Cary Morin, Daniel Rodriguez, and SHEL.

The production also features music supervision and orchestrations by Mark G. Meadows, dramaturgy by Lynd Rosario, sound design by Michael Creason, and lighting design by Ray Oppenheimer. The creative team also includes musician Kelyn Crapp, associate music director Matt Fukui Grandy, and creative producer Melissa Cashion.

Wildfire was initially commissioned and produced by Denver Center for the Performing Arts.
