BroadwayHD has announced the Tony-nominated revival of William Finn and James Lapine's Falsettos, along with the 2000 production of The Man Who Came to Dinner and the 2017 production of Long Day’s Journey Into Night will be available via the online subscription streaming service.
Long Day’s Journey Into Night, starring Alfred Molina and Jane Kaczmarek as the patriarch and matriarch of the troubled Tyrone family, is now available. The semi-autobiographical piece by Eugene O’Neill has long been considered a masterpiece.
Roundabout Theatre Company’s 2000 production of The Man Who Came to Dinner, starring Nathan Lane, Jean Smart, and Harriet Harris, will stream beginning August 10. The show was the first to open at the renamed American Airlines Theatre. Directed by Scott Ellis, Lane plays radio host Sheridan Whiteside as the dinner guest of a well-to-do factory owner. But when Whiteside falls and injures himself on his way to dinner, he ends up staying to recover, wreaking havoc on the home.
Beginning August 14, Lincoln Center Theater’s production of Falsettos, starring Tony nominees Christian Borle, Andrew Rannells, Stephanie J. Block, and Brandon Uranowitz, will also be available to stream. The show was taped in January 2017 with plans to air on PBS this fall. The recording has already played movie theatres across the country to sold-out crowds. After it hit big screens July 12, the demand for tickets drove producers to schedule additional screenings across the country.
BroadwayHD is a subscription streaming service. Currently, the website has a discount offer through July for $9.99 per month. Users can also purchase an annual subscription for $169.99 per year or can stream individual shows on-demand for $7.99 each. For more details, visit BroadwayHD.com.
