The play follows Chin's real-life journey as a single mother without health insurance or financial stability. "Told through Chin’s uniquely personal and poetic lens, this solo show explores how the process changed her life and how she makes peace with what she learns from this profound experience," state press notes.
Presented by Culture Project, performances of MotherStruck! begin Sept. 24 with an official opening night set for Oct. 7 at the Lynn Redgrave Theater.
Chin is a spoken word artist, LGBT rights activist and bestselling author of "The Other Side of Paradise: A Memoir." She has appeared on television and radio including The Oprah Winfrey Show, CNN and PBS.
