Veteran BIPOC Broadway stage managers Narda E. Alcorn, Lisa Dawn Cave, and Cody Renard Richard were among those who chose the recipients of the scholarship.

The Broadway Stage Managers Symposium has announced the five stage managers who will receive the 2022 Charlie Blackwell Symposium Scholarship.

The Charlie Blackwell Symposium Scholarships for BIPOC Stage Managers is named for Charlie Blackwell, a Black production stage manager who managed the original productions of Nine, Sunday in the Park with George, and Jerome Robbins Broadway, in addition to writing the book for The Tap Dance Kid. Blackwell passed away in 1995, and these scholarships honor his legacy by opening doors for future generations of BIPOC stage managers.

The recipients were chosen by a committee of veteran BIPOC Broadway stage managers: Narda E. Alcorn, Lisa Dawn Cave, Beverly Jenkins, Kenneth J. McGee, and Cody Renard Richard

The recipients are: Zaryah Aliyah Forde, Vanessa Beverly Mings, Imani Rae Henry, Charlene Diane Holm, and Aldayr Molina.
