Richard Eyre will direct a mix of American and British actors making their Chichester debuts in Nicholas Wright’s 8 Hotels.
The play is set in 1944 as an acting troupe comprised of well-known performers travels America performing Othello.
Tory Kittles makes his U.K. theatre debut as Paul Robeson, opposite Ben Cura, who portrays his acting rival José Ferrer. Pandora Colin will play Othello’s director, Margaret Webster. Emma Paetz plays Uta Hagen.
Nicholas Wright’s previous works include Vincent in Brixton (winning him the Olivier Award for Best New Play) and The Reporter, both directed by Richard Eyre.
The production will feature sets and costumes Rob Howell, with lighting by Peter Mumford, sound design by John Leonard and videos by Andrzej Goulding.
