Additional casting has been announced for the upcoming Broadway return engagement of the 2022 Tony-winning revival of Richard Greenberg's Take Me Out, which will play a 14-week limited run at the Schoenfeld Theatre beginning October 27.

As previously announced, Tony winner Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Tony nominee Jesse Williams will reprise their performances as Mason Marzac and Darren Lemming, respectively. They will be joined by returning cast members Julian Cihi, Hiram Delgado, Brandon J. Dirden, Carl Lundstedt, Ken Marks, Tony nominee Michael Oberholtzer, Eduardo Ramos, and Tyler Lansing Weaks.

Bill Heck (Cabaret, Brooklyn Boy) will join the company in the role of Kippy, the part created for this revival by Patrick J. Adams. The latter is unable to return to the part due to his role in the CBC original series Plan B.

Understudies for the return engagement will include Michael Castillejos, Lance Takeshi, Stephen Wattrus, and Tim Wright.

Helmed by Scott Ellis, the Second Stage Theater production was nominated for four 2022 Tony Awards, ultimately winning Best Revival of a Play and Featured Actor in a Play for Ferguson. The initial run began March 10 at Second Stage's Hayes Theater, officially opening April 4 and running through June 11. Read reviews here.

Ellis will reunite his entire creative team, including scenic designer David Rockwell, costume designer Linda Cho, lighting designer Kenneth Posner, and sound designer Bray Poor. Casting is by Jim Carnahan. The encore run is produced by Barry and Fran Weissler.

"Second Stage’s Tony Award-winning production was one of the most buzzed-about plays of the spring season, and its limited run was too brief to capture the interest and demand for tickets," said Barry Weissler in an earlier statement. "Fran and I are so honored to serve as pinch-hitters and take the show into extra innings. We were blown away when we saw it at the Hayes earlier this year under Scott Ellis’ brilliant direction. After being big fans when the play premiered back in 2004, we were struck by how relevant and timely it continues to be. Richard Greenberg brilliantly uses the lens of America’s favorite pastime to expose and explore the prejudices that divide us, but he strikes the perfect balance, managing to entertain as well as enlighten. In short, to borrow a line from the show, Fran and I 'have come to understand that baseball is a perfect metaphor for hope in a democratic society!'"

Williams stars as baseball star Darren Lemming, center fielder for the Empires, who comes out of the closet, revealing a tradition of long-held unspoken prejudices off the field. As the Empires struggle to rally toward a championship season, the players and their fans begin to question the old ways, their loyalties, and the price of victory.

The production, which features full-frontal male nudity, will continue requiring the use of Yondr pouches, into which audience members' phones are placed and locked for the duration of the performance, all while still in guests' own possession. The pouches are then unlocked and collected by staff at the end of the show. Visit OverYondr.com.

Take Me Out premiered on Broadway in 2003, winning the Best Play Tony Award. Ellis' production is the play's first Broadway revival.
