The two succeed Fra Fee and Amy Lennox, who depart the show October 1.

Screen actors Callum Scott Howells and Madeline Brewer are set to star in the London production of Cabaret as the Emcee and Sally Bowles, respectively. They will join the cast October 3 for a run through January 28, 2023, succeeding Fra Fee and Amy Lennox, who depart the show October 1. The Olivier-winning, Rebecca Frecknall-directed revival is currently playing at the West End's Kit Kat Club (the renovated Playhouse Theatre).

Howells, known for his BAFTA Award-winning role in It's a Sin, said, "I can't wait to work with the incredible team and company and follow on from two actors who I hugely respect and admire. I feel very lucky and excited to be taking on such an iconic role within this widely celebrated and unique production. It's going to be a ride."

Emmy nominee Madeline Brewer, who has starred in The Handmaid's TaleOrange is the New Black, and Hemlock Grove, said, "Rebecca’s vision is the most magical and emotional and exciting Cabaret I’ve ever seen. It’s a Sally and a Kit Kat Club so thrillingly fun and humbly prescient. I’m beyond honored to be invited to the party."

Also joining the cast will be Sid Sagar as Cliff Bradsha, Danny Mahoney as Ernst Ludwig, and Michelle Bishop as Fraulein Kost. Vivien Parry and Richard Katz will continue to play Fraulein Schneider and Herr Schultz, respectively. At certain performances, the role of Sally Bowles will be played by swing/understudy Emily Benjamin, who has been with the production since the show opened.

Rounding out the cast is Gabriela Benedetti, Charles Croysdill, Laura Delany, Sally Frith, Matthew Gent, Ying Ue Li, Ela Lisondra, Chris O’Mara, Grant Neal, Hicaro Nicolai, Adam Taylor, Toby Turpin, Patrick Wilden and Sophie Maria Wojna. 

Rachel Benson, Laura Braid, Asmara Cammock, Julian Capolei, Celine Fortenbacher, Reuben Greeph, Samantha Ho, Andrew Linnie, Carys McQueen, Kate Robson-Stuart and Sally Swanson complete The Prologue Company (who welcome audience members into the club).

This immersive production of Cabaret features music by John Kander, lyrics by Fred Ebb, book by Joe Masteroff, and is based on the play by John Van Druten and stories by Christopher Isherwood. The show opened  December 21, 2021 with Eddie Redmayne and Jessie Buckley as leads. With 11 nominations and seven wins, the revival swept the 2022 Olivier Awards.

The production from Ambassador Theatre Group Productions and Underbelly features choreography by Julia Cheng, set and costume design by Tom Scutt, lighting by Isabella Byrd, sound design by Nick Lidster, and musical direction by Jennifer Whyte. Casting is by Stuart Burt, with Jordan Fein serving as associate director.
