Set to reprise their Broadway roles are James Snyder, Elizabeth Stanley, Chester Gregory, Christopher J. Hanke, Harriet Harris, Alli Mauzey, Cameron Adams, Michael Buchanan, Colin Cunliffe, Lisa Gajda, Laura Jordan, Lacey Kohl, Marty Lawson, Spencer Liff, Mayumi Miguel, Richard Poe, Eric Sciotto, Peter Matthew Smith and Charlie Sutton.
Like Hairspray, to which it was compared at the time, Cry-Baby is based on a movie of the same name by John Waters. Cry-Baby features a score by David Javerbaum (Act of God) and Adam Schlesinger (the rock band Fountains of Wayne), It has a book by Mark O’Donnell (Hairspray) and Thomas Meehan (Annie). Despite its short run, the show was nominated for four Tony Awards, including Best Musical.
Produced by Shoshana Feinstein, the concert will feature musical direction by Henry Aronson.
Tickets begin at $45 with a $25 food/beverage minimum, and can be purchased at 54Below.com. Playbill.com's "Obsessed!" columnist Seth Rudetsky did the following video interview with original co-star Alli Mauzey talking about her character and singing a number from Cry-Baby.
