Flatley, according to court documents, is being sued for breach of contract for “$42,246.56 in fees and expenses for public relations and theatrical press agent services.” The lawsuit concerns the publicists' work for Flatley's 2015 Broadway outing, Lord of the Dance: Dangerous Games, which played the Lyric Theatre November 2015-January 2016. Flatley was credited as producer, director, star, choreographer, and creator of the limited engagement.
According to the New York daily, no part of the over-$40,000 fee has been paid; three production companies that were associated with the Broadway outing are also named in the lawsuit.
The production, which subsequently toured, marked Flatley's swan song as a performer, although his dance troupe did perform at Donald Trump's Liberty Ball January 20.
O&M’s Rick Miramontez told the Post, “We provide our services in good faith, and we’ve been blessed to work for an amazing roster of responsible and appreciative clients. Pursuing legal action is an absolute last resort and we do everything we can to avoid it.”
