Tony nominees Brandon Uranowitz and Raúl Esparza will star as brothers Addison and Wilson Mizner in Road Show, the final presentation of the 2019 Encores! Off-Center season at New York City Center. The production, directed and choreographed by Will Davis, will run July 24–27.
Joining the two in the Stephen Sondheim and John Weidman musical will be Tony winner Chuck Cooper as Papa Mizner, Tony nominee Mary Beth Peil as Mama Mizner, and Jin Ha (M. Butterfly) as Hollis Bessemer.
Rounding out the ensemble are Brandon Contreras, Rheaume Crenshaw, Daniel Edwards, Marina Kondo, Jay Lusteck, Liz McCartney, Matt Moisey, Shereen Pimentel, Sharone Sayegh, and Vishal Vaidya.
Road Show—known formerly as Bounce, Wise Guys, and Gold!—began its long-gestating development at New York Theatre Workshop in 1999. The musical, about the Mizner brothers' pursuit of fortune from gold rush to real estate boom, subsequently played Chicago and Washington, D.C., before returning to New York at the Public Theater in 2008.
The Off-Center staging follows Working, beginning June 26, and Promenade, running July 10 and 11.
