Off-Broadway News Before The Drugs Kick In Announces 4th Extension and New Off-Broadway Home

Styled like a comedy show, Mike Lemme's play is dedicated to young mothers whose mental health is often disregarded by society.

Edinburgh Fringe favorite solo show Before The Drugs Kick In has announced a fourth extension. After transferring from Manhattan's UNDER St. Marks to Long Island City's Court Square Theate and then to TheaterLab, the production is tacking on two more weekends in the Big Apple at The Lynn F. Angelson Theater. Performances will run in the new venue June 19-30.

Before The Drugs Kick In is written, directed, and produced by Mike Lemme. The creative team also includes movement director Mandy Gordon.

Maria DeCotis stars as a woman named Lynn T. Walsh, speaking from an insane asylum, about how she felt abandoned by her family after attempting to take her own life, and how society abandons women after they're no longer deemed useful.
