Trial writer Ashley Griffin's new play Portrait of a Heart will have its first industry reading at Syracuse University's The Fisher Center March 23.

Based on a concept by Brian Spector (The Inheritance), the play follows art history professor Paul from losing his wife Flora and raising two small children alone to, years later, believing art student Mona is his wife reincarnated. Faced with fears for his sanity, Paul and his children question their beliefs and the pain of hope.

Featuring Sean Allan Krill (Jagged Little Pill), Samantha Massell (Fiddler on the Roof), Danny Gardner (Flying Over Sunset), Taylor Rose Mickens (A Doll's House Part 2) and others, the invitation-only reading will be directed by Mia Walker (Jagged Little Pill). The reading is presented by Keaka Productions, LLC.
