Washington, D.C.'s Arena Stage has announced the cast and creative team for Selina Fillinger’s POTUS: Or, Behind Every Great Dumbass Are Seven Women Trying to Keep Him Alive. The feminist farce is set to run October 13-November 12 in the very city in which the show takes place.
Margot Bordelon will direct a cast that includes Naomi Jacobson as Harriet, Natalya Lynette Rathnam as Jean, Felicia Curry as Margaret, Kelly McAndrew as Bernadette, Janet Greer as the understudy for Harriet/Bernadette, Megan Hill as Stephanie, Yesenia Iglesias as Chris, Sarah-Anne Martinez as Dusty, Peregrine Teng Heard as understudy for Jean/Stephanie, and Jasmine Joy as understudy for Margaret/Chris/Dusty.
POTUS follows a group of seven women trying to keep the
President out of trouble, in a comedic exploration of political
posturing and power dynamics. The play opened on Broadway in April 2022,
earning three Tony nominations.
The creative team also includes set designer Reid Thompson, costume designer Ivania Stack, lighting designer Marika Kent, original music and sound designer Sinan Refik Zafar, wig and hair designer Tommy Kurzman, dialect and vocal coach Lisa Nathans, dramaturg Otis Ramsey-Zöe, casting director Joseph Pinzon, New York casting director Kelly Gillespie, stage manager Christi B. Spann, and assistant stage manager Dayne Sundman.
