Angry Birds, the mobile game phenomenon, is coming to stages across North America. The franchise will hit the road in 2023 with Angry Birds Live: The Slingshot Adventure!, an interactive live production. Tour dates will be announced soon.

In partnership with Kilburn Live, Rovio Entertainment Corporation, and IMG, the stage show will feature movie characters Red, Silver, and Leonard as they explore a new world and the challenges that arise. The production will feature gameplay interactions, relying on the audience to dictate the outcome.

Angry Birds Live: The Slingshot Adventure is a landmark production and interactive theatrical experience that allows the audience to participate and impact the outcome of the story in a way that has never been done before,” says Mark Manuel, CEO of Kilburn Live. “We are going to once again push the boundaries of live entertainment and allow the audience to catapult objects onto the stage during the performance that will impact the outcome of the show. It’s going to be a lot of fun.”

James Johnston and Bennet Yellin will contribute to the script, best known for their work on the movies Dumb and Dumber and Stuck on You.

Angry Birds was first released as a mobile game in 2009 and has since spun out a series of video games, movies, and theme park attractions. To date, the franchise has released 22 video games (including mobile, but omitting spin-offs and cameos) with many more in the works. Additional media includes television adaptations—released via YouTube, Netflix, and more—and a two-part movie series by Sony Pictures.
