A familiar voice was heard at the Broadway musical In Transit January 28. Charlie Pellett, the voiceover actor named “the most recognizable voice in New York” by The New Yorker magazine, visited the a cappella musical at the Circle in the Square Theatre, and was invited onto the stage to deliver the one line every New York straphanger has heard a thousand times: “Stand clear of the closing doors.” Pellett’s visit to the musical, which is set in the New York subway system, was a surprise birthday gift from his wife, Randi Pellett. Leading lady Margo Seibert gave Pellett a shout-out following the curtain call, and invited him up on stage to say his famous line for the entire audience.
