Radio City Music Hall opened on December 27, 1932, under the ownership of John D. Rockefeller, Jr. The venue takes its name from one of its first tenants, the Radio Corporation of America. Radio City is home to the Rockettes (originally the Roxyettes after producer Samuel "Roxy" Rothafel), who star in the annual Christmas Spectacular.
