Carnegie Hall, a magnificent venue designed by William Burnet Tuthill and produced by Andrew Carnegie, officially opened in May 1891. Throughout its long history, the venue has hosted legendary performances by Judy Garland, the Benny Goodman Orchestra and the Beatles. Carnegie Hall achieved New York City landmark status in 1967.
