The following instruments/musical abilities are called for in the score and are particularly intriguing to the creative team: electric bass, guitar (ability to double on acoustic and electric ideal, blues guitar ability helpful), piano/keys, fiddle/violin, reeds (especially flute, clarinet, and oboe), banjo, and percussion. AEA and Non-Union actors/singers who play one or more instruments are encouraged to submit.

WHAT TO PREPARE

Please prepare 8-15 lines of text from William Shakespeare's The Tempest AND a 30-60 second self-accompanied song (preferably of the folk, country, blues, or Americana variety.) For instruments that are impossible (e.g. reeds) or extremely difficult to play and sing simultaneously, you may instead perform 30 seconds of singing and 30 seconds of playing. If you play multiple instruments, please demonstrate or specify proficiency. Please SLATE, including your name, union status, and whether you have permanent housing in DC. YouTube or Vimeo links preferred. Submissions due by 11:59pm on Saturday, July 6th. No exceptions.
