DESCRIPTION

The Development Assistant will serve as temporary, full-time administrative and project support for The Public Theater’s Development Team. This position will specialize in working on the Capital Campaign, Individual Giving, data entry, and ticketing. This position will have direct and frequent engagement with the development team and other Public Theater departments. This position is a temporary position, reporting to the Deputy Director of Development and working closely with The Public's Capital Campaign Consultant, and The Public Theater’s Advancement Services, Individual Giving, and Major Gifts teams.

 Responsibilities 

 Functions may include, but are not limited to:

  • Process all Capital Campaign inbox emails and respond quickly, efficiently, and accurately to donor requests
  • Support day to day functions of The Public Theater’s Capital Campaign including gift forms, data entry, inscriptions, agreements, and acknowledgments
  • Facilitate administrative tasks related to stewardship including ticketing, reservations, and data entry.
  • Ensure donor records are accurate and up to date in CRM
  • Create agendas and schedule internal meetings for capital campaign stakeholders
  • Maintain current Capital Campaign documentation and resources for development team
  • Provide on-site support at select donor events and assist with in house mailings as needed
  • Perform other tasks/duties as they arise

Qualifications  

  • The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following qualifications: 
  • Self-motivated and highly organized with strong ability to work independently, quickly, accurately, and effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining strict attention to detail.
  • Team player with a collaborative mindset with a passion for customer service and commitment to excellence.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in fundraising database software (Tessitura experience is a plus).
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Compensation:

$22.00/hour

Employment Term:

Position is available immediately through January 30, 2026

This is a non-exempt position, according to the Fair Labor Standards Act.
