Seeking submissions for Legacy Theatre’s upcoming MainStage Season
For consideration, submit a video link for viewing (YouTube or Vimeo preferred) and an attached PDF of your headshot and resume to [email protected] with the subject line "Actor Full Name /Local or Non-Local/ Union Status (Equity or Non Equity)". Submissions deadline is Feb 28. Callbacks will be TBD.
All submissions should prepare two contrasting monologues. To be considered for a musical this season, please include a song that best shows your range and ability. If you are submitting for A Spoonful of Sherman, please also include a song written by the Sherman Brothers and a dance reel (including tap/soft shoe) in your submission. General reels accepted. Note that the video should be listed as "Unlisted" rather than "Private" on YouTube, and as "Anyone" or "People with the private link" on Vimeo. Do not share via WeTransfer, Google Drive, Dropbox, iCloud or other file sharing platforms that require downloading to view.

Strong singers (seeking Soprano, Alto, Tenor, and Bass) and dancers who can blend well and hold tight harmonies; also seeking two male singers who can play piano as featured performers throughout the revue.
Note, this production may go on tour. The ideal candidate is able to continue touring the show (not outside of North America) for additional dates 2025-2026

Vic: (20) female-presenting BIPOC, exhuberant actress turned stage manager
Jack: (50s) handsome and often hungover director of a failing theatre; father of Wes
Sue: (50s) serious stage actress with regrets of being caught up in the regional scene
Wes: (20s) actor, son of Jack, who is unsure of the life he’s been given
Bobby: (20s) talented and driven actor on his way to the big time

Sweeney Todd is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI).
Seeking:
Anthony: (20s) a naive and youthful sailor returning to London. He rescues Todd and unexpectedly falls in love with Johanna. Strong, brave and full of the joys of the world. He has yet to inhabit the cynical qualities of Todd. He grows more and more terrified of the world around him. Vocal range: Tenor - Bb2-F4
Joanna: (needs to appear 16) a high-spirited girl, full of innocence with a flirtatious demeanor. She is constantly yearning for freedom. Todd's long-lost daughter and Judge Turpin's ward. Vocal range: Soprano - Bb3-A5 Audition
Tobias: (16-20s) a poor simpleton youngster apprenticed to Pirelli and who finds a surrogate mother in Lovett. He is loyal, truthful and innocent to a fault with a heart of gold and a sharp eye. He does not trust Todd. Vocal range: Tenor - Bb2-Ab4.
Beggar Woman (Lucy): (30s) an eerie, poor soul living on the streets of London making her living prostituting herself to sailors at London docks. She is a deranged and schizophrenic woman who harbors a dark, surprising secret. She is Todd’s wife unrecognizable, but a consistent character through the show. Her interjections go unheeded. Vocal range: Mezzo - Ab3 - F5
Judge Turpin: (50 plus) a lecherous, corrupt and evil public official who portrays himself as sanctimonious. He takes advantage of his position in the city and is responsible for imprisoning Todd. He lusts after Joanna. Vocal range Bass - E2-Gb4.
Beadle Bamford: (30s-50) a pompous public official, deeply loyal to Judge Turpin. He is eager, violent, unscrupulous and terrorizing. Vocal range: High Tenor - D3-D5
Adolfo Pirelli: (30s-40s) An Irish charlatan and former employee of Todd’s who has since developed a public persona as a flashy and flamboyant Italian barber. He is crooked, calculating and conniving with a hot temper. A comedic role. Both Italian and Irish accents are required. Vocal range: High Tenor - B2-C5
Ensemble/Understudies: 2-3 male presenting (tenor/bass) and 2 -3 female presenting (soprano/alto)

Seeking:
Dotty Otley / Mrs. Clacket: (Off stage Dotty) A late-middle-aged American actress. Forgetful. Dating Garry, though she attempts to make him jealous by meeting with Freddy. On Stage Character, Mrs. Clackett: A Cockney Housekeeper for the Brent's home in England. Hospitable, though slow.
Brooke Ashton / Vicki: (Off Stage: Brooke) A young inexperienced American actress. Pays no attention to other performers, either in performance or backstage. She seems as though she is not really present – like she is somewhere else inside her head. Is always losing her contact lenses. One-third of a Lloyd–Poppy–Brooke love triangle. On Stage Character, Vicki: An English woman who works for Inland Revenue and is trying to woo Roger.
Belinda Blair / Flavia Brent (Off stage Belinda): Cheerful and sensible, a reliable American actress. She may have feelings for Freddy. On Stage Character, Flavia Brent: Phillip Brent's English wife. She is dependable, though not one for household duties.
Poppy Norton-Taylor: American Stage Manager. Emotional, over-sensitive and envious of Brooke, whom she understudies. Carrying Lloyd's child. One-third of a Lloyd-Poppy-Brooke love triangle.
Lloyd Dallas: The director of the play, Nothing On. Temperamental. One third of a Lloyd–Poppy–Brooke love triangle.
Garry Lejeune / Roger: (Off stage: Garry) An American actor who never finishes a sentence. Always is completing sentences with, "you know..." Easily fired up, repeatedly tries to attack Freddy after believing that Dotty was cheating on him with Freddy. Speech affectations disappear onstage but are everpresent offstage. Dating Dotty. On Stage Character, Roger: An English Real estate agent who is attempting to rent Flavia's and Phillip's home, but uses it for his own personal benefit.
Frederick Fellows /Phillip Brent / Sheikh : (Off stage: Freddy) An American actor with a serious fear of violence and blood. Gets nosebleeds easily. Often questions the meaning of his lines and moves. Blames himself often for things going wrong. On Stage Character, Phillip Brent: An Englishman who lives out of the country with his wife Flavia to avoid paying taxes. He enters the country knowing that if he is caught by Inland Revenue, he will lose most of the year's income. On Stage Character, Sheikh: of Middle-Eastern origin, interested in renting Flavia's and Phillip's home and is the spitting image of Phillip.
Selsdon Mowbray / Burglar: (Off Stage: Selsdon Mowbray): An elderly alcoholic Englishman who hides his bottles onstage. If he is not in sight while rehearsing, the stage crew must find him before he passes out. Is hard of hearing when he wants to be. On Stage Character, Burglar: Old Cockney man in his seventies, breaking into the Brent's home.
Timothy Allgood: An over-worked American Assistant Stage Manager. Understudies Selsdon and Freddy.
