DESCRIPTION

Position Summary:

The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey, located in both Madison and Florham Park, New Jersey is seeking theatre technicians and artists to join our over-hire lists for occasional work calls. We are currently seeking help in the scenic construction and scenic art. Must be local to the NY metropolitan area (NY, NJ, southern CT, or eastern PA) and have access to reliable transportation.

Physical Demands:

· Must be comfortable using a variety of hand tools, stationary and portable power tools, and specialized equipment as found in a typical professional theatre.

· Position is sometimes required to stand, sit, or kneel for extended periods during regular work.

· Must be able to lift and move 50 pounds, climb stairs and ladders, and work in confined spaces.

· Must be comfortable working at heights up to 25 feet. Safety equipment and specific training will be provided.

Compensation:

Pay is on W-4/I-9 and is $18-25/hour depending on experience and skillset. This position is eligible for overtime after 40 hours/week.
