Work Schedule: 20 hours per week

FLSA Status: Part-Time Hourly Non-Exempt

Supervisor: Director of Arts

Position:

The Part-Time Performing Arts Technician will work closely with and under the direction of our Technical Director in supporting all aspects of productions during the school year, October up until on or about mid-April. The position also includes interacting with student technicians in the Middle and Upper School divisions (grades 5 - 12). A flexible schedule and the ability to work weekends and evenings as necessary.

Essential Responsibilities Include: Duties are subject to change, and others may be assigned.

● Safety, care, maintenance, and operation of all technical equipment and systems, both theatrical and not

● Assisting the Technical Director with building, lighting, or sound for productions
● Maintaining workspaces and performance/exhibition spaces

● Running other technical needs for events

Required Competencies and Skills:

● A Bachelor’s Degree earned in a relevant field or in process is preferred. Professional or educational experience in carpentry, rigging, painting, lighting, sound and/or sculpture is required

● The ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, students and guest artists
● An approachable, collaborative professional who values teamwork, builds meaningfulrelationships, listens well, and respects differences of opinion

● Ability to adapt to changes in the work environment; manage competing demands; change approach or method to fit the situation best; able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events

● Able to uphold the school’s Quaker mission and values

Salary/Wage: Hourly Range, $20-$30 per hour. Salary offers are based on factors that include years of experience, training/skills, internal peer equity, market, and other organizational considerations. The salary range and/or hourly rate listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation that may be offered to a successful applicant for this position at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future.
