Epoch Tribe is hiring a Nashville-based Stage Manager for an April 2025 production.
About Epoch Tribe
Epoch Tribe is a Black woman-owned theater production company whose work is rooted in
the Black cultural storytelling tradition. We write and produce monologue driven shows
based on the narratives of real people.
Stage Manager Responsibilities
The Nashville Stage Manager will be a counterpart to a Charlotte Stage Manager, and will be
expected to communicate in coordination with that role.
○ Attending Nashville rehearsals, consistently arriving on time. For in person
rehearsals, Stage Manager should arrive no later than 15 minutes prior to the
start of rehearsal in order to prepare the rehearsal space
○ Setting up technology for the Director to lead rehearsals virtually
○ Assisting the Director in maintaining professional practices during rehearsal
○ Completing the typical administrative and organizational duties of a stage
manager including but not limited to: coordinating communications between
cast, director and staff/crew regarding schedules and other rehearsal details;
maintaining proactive and regular contact with the Director about any needs,
conflicts, or issues that arise for the production
○ Working with the Charlotte Stage Manager to make sure all edits, blocking
notes, and other key directing notes are reflected in the current script
○ All notes and technical details from Charlotte rehearsals will be provided to the
Nashville Stage Manager, and the Nashville Stage Manager will provide the
same to the Charlotte Stage Manager. This includes any notes, cues, technical
details or other information at the discretion of the Director.
○ Writing and sending out rehearsal reports, emailing them no later than
10:00am EST the day following the rehearsal the report details.
○ Managing the show day schedule
○ Assisting the Director in running tech rehearsal through helping streamline
communication between Production team and the theatre crew, and taking
the lead on keeping the schedule for tech rehearsal on track
○ Calling the show and running cues for the show on performance day, utilizing
QLab platform or the theatre’s preferred method
○ Managing catering deliveries as needed for rehearsals or show day
○ Oversee the inventory and schedule for closing backstage after the show
○ In conjunction with the Director, being a general resource and support person
for the IAQC cast when questions and concerns arise
○ Other typical tasks and responsibilities related to stage management per
instruction of the Director/Producers
Production & Rehearsal Information
● The production is non-union.
● Virtual rehearsals will take place in December and January 2025.
● In-person rehearsals will begin in late January/February 2024 through April 2025.
● Rehearsals will take place on Mondays and Thursdays from 6pm - 9 pm.
● The performance is one night only, on Saturday, April 19th, 2025 at TPAC’s Polk Theater.
● The Stage Manager will need to be available for all call rehearsals and tech rehearsals
during the day and evening from Tuesday, April 15th - Friday April 18th, 2025.
Pay
● The Stage Manager will be paid at milestones through the rehearsal process with a
final payment on the day of the show.
● Payments will be made electronically.
