Narrows Community Theater (NCT) is seeking passionate and experienced theater professionals to join our creative team for the 2025 season!

We are hiring for the following roles:

• Director, Music Director, Choreographer (if needed), and Stage Manager for 42nd Street (Performances: April 25-27, May 2-4, 2025)
• Director, Music Director, Choreographer (if needed), and Stage Manager for Spring Awakening (Performances: July 24-27, 2025)
  • Spring Awakening is our Young Adult Program production, designed for performers and a creative team ages 16-25.
• Director, Music Director, Choreographer (if needed), and Stage Manager for Hairspray (Performances: September 5-7, 12-14, 2025)
  • Hairspray is our Summer Youth Program production, featuring performers ages 8-18.
• Director, Music Director, Choreographer (if needed), and Stage Manager for Anastasia (Performances: December 5-7, 12-14, 2025)

Audition Dates (Tentative):

• 42nd Street: Week of February 17, 2025
• Spring Awakening: June 3-5, 2025
• Hairspray: June 28, 2025 & June 30, 2025
• Anastasia: September 30, October 1-2, 2025

Required Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Theater Director, Music Director, Choreographer, Stage Manager, or Assistant Director in professional, community, or educational theater settings.
• Experience working with actors to create a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment.
• Knowledge of industry-standard practices for safety in theater.
• For Hairspray, experience working with children ages 8-18 is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in a variety of theatrical genres, from classic musicals to contemporary dramas.
• Familiarity with inclusive practices and a commitment to creating accessible theater for all artists and audiences.
• Experience working with community theaters or multi-generational casts.

Rehearsal Schedule:
Rehearsals are generally held on weekday evenings and weekends. The specific schedule will be determined in collaboration with the selected creative team, but we aim to maintain a consistent and manageable rehearsal period. Any scheduled breaks (such as holiday periods) will be observed.

Application Deadline:

• For 42nd Street, the deadline to apply is January 17, 2025.
• For all other productions, applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis and will remain open until the position is filled.

Interviews will be conducted accordingly.

Compensation:
Stipends are provided for each position. Director/Choreographers will be paid the combination of our standard Director and Choreographer stipends. Specific details will be shared during the interview process.
