DESCRIPTION

Overview:

The Santaland Elf positions is the official ambassador of Santa Claus charged with helping to spread cheer and goodwill among our Santaland guests.You will be responsible for ensuring a wonderful holiday experience by employing a mix of entertainment and crowd control techniques to maintain the flow of guests passing through Santaland.

Essential Functions:

• Always be in Elf costume (provided by Macy’s)
• Direct and expedite guest visits with Santa
• Take photos (on proprietary equipment)
• Assist with crowd control while maintaining a cheerful disposition
• Perform other duties as needed
• Regular, dependable attendance & punctuality
• Always maintain a cheerful, upbeat demeanor while on stage in front of guests

Qualifications

Education/Experience:

· Crowd control experience with both adults and children required

· Customer service experience required

· Performer experience preferred

Communication Skills:

· Knowledge of a second language helpful

· Strong interpersonal and communication skills

· Ability to effectively communicate with and direct children

Mathematical Skills:

· Basic math functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division

Reasoning Ability:

· Must have the ability to work independently with minimal supervision

· Must be able to multitask in a fast paced environment

· Present a professional image consistent with Macy's brand values

Physical Demands:

· May involve prolonged standing and walking

· May involve lifting heavy objects 30lbs+ including small children

Work Hours:

· Flexible with scheduling and available to work retail hours which may include day, evening, weekends and/or holidays or sales events depending on business needs
