DESCRIPTION

Candidates must have a valid passport, with willingness to travel. This is an onboard traveling position and not local to Florida. Onboard contracts are 6-8 months in length.

Position Overview

The Entertainment Production Manager is a strong leader of the onboard production show team. Working with the Cruise Director and onboard management, the Entertainment Production Manager will actively manage the production show operation, including all theatrical and production venues, scheduling, show operation, production show department staff members, wardrobe, cast members, and guest entertainers. Utilizing strong company and talent management skills, the Entertainment Production Manager will deliver and maintain production show standards, performance assessments, develop and guide crew members, conduct evaluations, monitor discipline and performance standards, and oversee the general well-being of all production show department staff, cast members, and guest entertainers.

This is a complex, multifaceted role requiring theatrical experience, stage management, and an understanding of company management, and entertainment contracts. The ideal Entertainment Production Manager will exude positivity, excellent communication skills, strong organizational skills, and be an active problem solver.

Responsibilities

· Point person onboard for Theatrical Operations and Production Show Department to streamline communications, operations, scheduling, and administrative tasks.

· Provide support and oversight for departmental managers supervisors, crew members, and guest entertainers.

· Conduct show operation, including calling of cues and notating show deviations for voyage reporting.

· Oversee the publishing and distribution of schedules, trainings, inspections, and assignments.

· Foster relationships and work closely with Cruise Director, Senior Management and Department Heads, Human Resources, and Finance for accommodations and cabin assignments, salaries, benefits, privileges, visits, installs, etc.

· Conduct and attend weekly departmental production and company meetings to discuss scheduling, general concerns, and upcoming events.

· Shipboard liaison for hiring partners regarding operational needs onboard.

· Point person during install for entertainment contractors and vendors.

· Provide guidance and development to production show crew members, while encouraging open communication, full disclosure of information, and adherence to ship and company guidelines.

· Write and distribute voyage production reports accurately detailing show details status of production elements, and any needs in assigned venues.

· Oversee communications, promotional support, publishing and distribution of schedules, rehearsals, technical checks, trainings, inspections, safety assignments and shipboard procedures to all production show talent to include production cast, guest entertainers, technical supervisor, and wardrobe supervisor.

· Conduct disciplinary action according to ship guidelines for production show department staff, cast members, and guest entertainers.

· Responsible for the evaluation process of production managers and supervisors, cast members, wardrobe team, and theater musicians with the contributions of departmental managers.

Education and Experience

· Bachelor’s Degree in Theater and/or Stage Management, or equivalent/relevant course of study (e.g. Business, Human Resources, etc.) preferred.

· Three to five years of experience and/or employment in Company Manager or Production Stage Manager position, or equivalent experience in a similar field.

· Knowledge of, and experience working in cruise ship entertainment operations is preferable.

Related Skills

· Ability to work 7 days a week, with long working hours.

· Proven diplomatic ability to effectively manage a diverse team of entertainment and production professionals.

· Excellent communication skills, and a high level of English verbal, reading, and writing competency.

· Highly effective organizational ability, time management, critical thinking, problem solving, and conflict resolution.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Windows, Office, Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

· Passionate about hospitality and must be customer service driven.

· Must have a professional appearance, and good personal hygiene.

· Ability to live in close quarters and share limited working space.

· Able to develop a strong rapport and working relationship across multiple departments, with a diverse team.

SALARY

$4,500.00 – $5,800.00 per month
