Tony nominees Zachary Levi and Megan Hilty host the 82nd Annual Drama League Awards May 20 at 12:30 PM at the Marriott Marquis Times Square (1535 Broadway).

Tony Award winner James Monroe Iglehart and his Aladdin castmates, Adam Jacobs and Courtney Reed, announced the nominees for the 82nd Annual Drama League Awards April 20 at Sardi's in five categories: Outstanding Play, Outstanding Revival of a Play, Outstanding Musical, Outstanding Revival of a Musical and the Distinguished Performance Award. (At their request, the productions of Shuffle Along and Cirque du Soleil: Paramour will be considered eligible in the 2016-17 season.)

Although Hamilton and two of its stars, Lin-Manuel Miranda and Daveed Diggs, were nominated for Drama League Awards last year, those nominations were for the Off-Broadway production. The hit musical received consideration for its Broadway production this year, according to a spokesperson for the Drama League Awards. The last production that received recognition for its Off-Broadway and Broadway stagings was Venus in Fur. The Drama League "feels that it is important to recognize and to encourage the transfer and growth of production," according to its spokesperson.

Tickets for the Drama League Awards are available by calling (212) 244-9494 or by visiting dramaleague.org/events.

First awarded in 1922 and formalized in 1935, The Drama League Awards, which celebrate Broadway and Off-Broadway productions, are the oldest theatrical honors in America. They are the only major theatregoer awards chosen by audience members — specifically, by the thousands of Drama League members nationwide who attend Broadway and Off-Broadway productions.
