New Light Theater Project is set to revive Yasmina Reza’s play Life x3, translated by Christopher Hampton, in a limited engagement at Urban Stages this fall. Last seen on Broadway in 2003, the play sees two couples appear in three possible versions of the same dinner party, with each leading to a slightly different outcome.
Life x3 will be directed by Jerry Heymann with a cast made up of Dominic Comperatore (A View from the Bridge) as as Hubert; Leah Curney (The American Plan) as as Ines; Claire Curtis-Ward (The Enchantment) as Sonia; and James Patrick Nelson (Ivanov, Three Sisters) as Henri.
Performances will run November 20–December 8.
The design team includes Brian Dudkiewicz (scenic design); Paul Hudson (lighting design); Genevieve V. Beller (costume design); Janet Bentley (sound design); and Abigail Stuckey (prop design). The production stage manager is Lindsey Hurley; technical director is TJ Craftsman; and casting is by TBD Casting (Stephanie Yankwitt and Margaret Dunn).
Reza is a playwright and novelist based in Paris. Her plays include Art and God of Carnage, both winners of the Tony Award for Best Play. She has written six books, including Dawn Dusk or Night: A Year with Nicolas Sarkozy, and the most recent, Babylon.
