Lynette Linton directs the era-defining comedy that illuminates the Guyanese experience of 1970s London.

The largest-ever staging of Michael Abbensetts' Alterations will play London's National Theatre next year. Watch a trailer for the upcoming production in the video above.

Directed by Lynette Linton, the era-defining comedy will be seen in the Lyttelton February 20-April 5, 2025. The cast will be led by Arinzé Kene (Get Up, Stand Up: The Bob Marley Story), Cherrelle Skeete (Hanna), and Gershwyn Eustache Jnr.

Alterations illuminates the Guyanese experience of 1970s London, with additional material by Trish Cooke. The 1978 play follows Walker Holt, who has big dreams for his tailor’s shop and an even bigger order to complete. Over the course of 24 hours, he must work tirelessly to satisfy his new client’s impossible tailoring needs.

The production will also have set and costume design by Frankie Bradshaw; lighting design by Oliver Fenwick; movement direction by Shelley Maxwell; sound design by George Dennis; wigs, hair, and makeup design by Cynthia De La Rosa; fight direction by Kate Waters; vocal and dialect coaching by Hazel Holder; and casting by Alastair Coomer and Naomi Downham.
